Sofamel SZ-51M Electrical Incident Rescue Kit
The Sofamel SZ-51M Rescue Kit has a range of instruments and tools needed to intervene speedily after an electrical incident. All the components are fixed to a 0.9m x 1.6m board so that responders have everything they need in the same place if an electrical accident occurs.

There is a 1.75m BS-45 Rescue Pole which is designed to move the casualty out of the hazardous area. The fibreglass, double-sealed pole has a hook at one end and an ergonomic handle at the other. It can withstand electrical potential of up to 45kV. A pair of SZ-57/25 insulated wire cutters can cut wires of up to Ø25mm and withstand voltage up to 25kV.
A VTE-5/36P voltage detector on top of a 1.3m pole is also provided. This indicates voltage over 5kV with a red LED and alarm whilst a green LED indicates voltage absence. The detector automatically turns on in the presence of voltage for an additional layer of safety.

Class 3 dielectric gloves help protect the responder from electric shock and there is also a pair of insulating shoes for the same purpose. A 45kV-rated insulating stool provides further protection.
Once the casualty is out of immediate danger, the responder can use the kit’s artificial respiration pipette. This is used to prevent direct contact between the injured person and the attendee. A first-aid plate, instruction board and a jar of salts are also included in order to tend to the injured party.
