The Sonel MIC-5050 insulation resistance meter measures up to 20 TΩ and is vital in electric shock protection testing within AC power networks. It evaluates the safety status of electrical installations. It is ideal for assessing electro-insulating materials and inspecting electrical infrastructure.

The MIC-5050 measures the temperature of the tested object and calculates key indicators such as the Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Polarization Index (PI), and Dielectric Discharge (DD). The Step Voltage (SV) method evaluates insulation behaviour across multiple voltage levels. Variations of around 25% between voltage steps can indicate potential insulation defects.

The high-voltage inverter generates a 5 kV test voltage and delivers 6 mA of current. It also has a three-wire measurement system, including a "GUARD" wire, built-in digital filters and adjustable averaging times (ranging from 10 to 200 seconds). The graphical display shows real-time data, insulation resistance, voltage, and current as waveforms over time. Analyse data and create reports through the Sonel Reader software and mobile app.

The MIC-5050 is compatible with the AutoISO-5000 adapter, has a 30 W inverter, and is suitable for substations operating at 765 kV or higher, street lighting, or cable installations.
