Additional notable benefits of the infrared thermometer are its very short reaction time (< 1 sec.) and the non-contact IR technology. This makes the infrared thermometer ideal for checking temperatures on rotating or current-carrying parts. The device is also well suited for use in the food industry, due to the non-contact measurements, which prevent spread of germs.
